Refresh Your Mind with Walk and Talk Counseling
Walk and Talk Counseling offers a dynamic alternative to traditional therapy by taking sessions outdoors. This approach combines the benefits of movement and fresh air with the therapeutic process, helping you feel more relaxed, engaged, and open to new perspectives. Walking side-by-side with your counsellor can reduce anxiety, boost mood, and promote a sense of calm, making it easier to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Depending on your preference, there are a number of locations throughout the South Chilliwack area that we can meet up for a stroll as we talk. We can discuss the options and come up with a plan that suits you during a free 15-minute consultation prior to booking your first session.

Common Concerns that Walk and Talk Counselling can Target

  • Anxiety, restlessness, or feeling “stuck”

  • Difficulty opening up or feeling safe in face-to-face settings

  • Burnout, stress, or emotional exhaustion

  • Grief, life transitions, and identity shifts

  • Seasonal depression or lack of motivation

  • Overwhelm and nervous system dysregulation

  • A desire for a more embodied or holistic counselling experience

Walk and Talk sessions take place outdoors — usually on quiet, accessible trails — and follow a pace that feels comfortable to you. Instead of sitting in a therapy office, we walk side-by-side, creating a more relaxed and open space for conversation. This gentle movement often helps reduce tension, deepen self-awareness, and support emotional processing in a grounded, embodied way.

The benefits of Walk and Talk Counselling include:

  • Easing into therapy more naturally and comfortably

  • Supporting nervous system regulation through movement and nature

  • Accessing insights that arise through embodied awareness

  • Breaking through mental blocks by physically moving forward

  • Offering an alternative to screen fatigue or clinical spaces
